“Makuded Ubumnyama” (When the darkness cease)

Having experienced loss and pain earlier in my youth, the burning of my studio, at the exact time when I was being interviewed for a dream game-changer of an opportunity, culminated in finding myself consumed by a darkness so heavy it weighed me down to the point where I had lost confidence in the plans I thought would benefit my well-being. As I sat one day wallowing in my despair with blank papers in front of me and rage coursing through me, I threw the cup I was drinking from and saw how it created a stains on the paper. At that moment, the light slowly crept back in and the heavy darkness seemed to cease. And so the journey began. This was the awakening I was asking for through prayer and supplication.
